The Training School will take place at the Wissenschaftspark Albert Einstein, the main campus of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research.

Below, you will find some information on how to reach Potsdam from the two Berlin airports (by public transport), as well as the Science Campus from Potsdam main station:

(a) From Berlin Tegel airport (TXL) to Potsdam main station: Use bus TXL (towards Alexanderplatz) until Berlin Hauptbahnhof (main station), bus X9 to Berlin Zoologischer Garten until the final stop, or bus 109 (towards Zoologischer Garten) until Kaiser-Friedrich-Str./Kantstr. (next to Charlottenburg station). From the respective train stations, you have two options: regional train RE1 (towards Brandenburg or Magdeburg, every 30 minutes, fast option) or suburban train S7 (towards Potsdam, every 10 minutes, but slower). The overall travel time should between 40 and 60 minutes, depending on the route and connection. In all cases, you only need a single ticket "Berlin ABC" (3,40 Euro) which you can buy at the ticket machine outside the main terminal. This ticket is also valid for all buses and trams in Potsdam up to a total duration of 2 hours (note that you have to validate the ticket just once when boarding the bus at the airport to get the corresponding time stamp).

(b) From Berlin Schoenefeld airport (SXF) to Potsdam main station: Walk to the Berlin Schoenefeld train station (about 800 m from the terminal). Option 1: Use the regional train RB22 (towards Griebnitzsee, some trains bound through to Berlin-Friedrichstr.) and exist at Potsdam main station (duration about 50 minutes). This train runs hourly during the day, leaving the station at 20 minutes past the full hour. You will need a single ticket "Berlin BC" (3,10 Euro, also valid for 2 hours including all buses and trams within Potsdam). Option 2 (slower, but useful in case you have missed the train of option 1): Take the regional train RB14 (towards Nauen, hourly, departing at 3 minutes past the full hour) or RE7 (towards Dessau or Belzig, hourly, departing 45 minutes past the full hour). Change at any station between Berlin Ostbahnhof and Berlin Charlottenburg to either RE1 or S7 (see description for Berlin Tegel airport above). Alternatively, you may also stay in the RE7 until Potsdam Medienstadt Babelsberg or Potsdam Rehbruecke station and change there for a bus or tram (only useful if your hotel/accommodation is in the (south)western part of Potsdam). In any of these cases, you will need a "Berlin ABC" ticket (see description for Berlin Tegel airport). Ticket machines can be found in the terminal at SXF and at the Schoenefeld train station.

(c) From Potsdam main station to Telegrafenberg (Science Campus): In the morning and evening hours, there is a small bus running every 20 minutes (last morning departure from Potsdam main station at 9:33 am, last evening departure from Telegrafenberg at 6:41 pm), departing at the central bus station next to Potsdam main station, platform 7. Note that this bus can be quite crowded at peak times. Using this bus requires a ticket "Kurzstrecke Potsdam" (short-distance travel within Potsdam) at a cost of 1,50 €. Alternatively, you may have a nice 15 minutes walk uphill (cross the traffic lights next to the bus station, follow the pathway between the buildings on the other side of the street, cross another traffic light at Heinrich-Mann-Allee and then go only very slightly left following Albert-Einstein-Str. until its end).

Details on how to reach the campus can also be found at the PIK Website.

Lectures will be held in building A43 and tutorials will take place in building A56.
